Text messaging appears to be way more convenient than voice calls for quick communication on a daily basis. That’s probably because sending a text message means that you can get your point across quickly without the small talk that usually begins most voice conversations. The following iPhone tips will help you become a more efficient texter than ever.
Emoji Keyboard
If you have an iPhone running iOS5, the Emoji keyboard is already built into your device, and can easily be accessed in a few steps. However, be aware that when using Emoji, only your iPad Touch, iPhone and iPad recipients will be able to view your emoticons.
AutoText Shortcuts
If you find yourself using certain phrases often, such as ‘lol’ or ‘see you soon’, turning them into autotext shortcuts can mean that you send your messages even faster than before. You can create autotext shortcuts by going to Settings, General, Keyboard and then Shortcuts.
Speech To Text
This feature can help you send a quick message to any of your contacts using just your voice. Located in the Messages app, speech-to-text only requires you to find the message thread you wish to contribute to, tap the text field, tap the microphone icon, and begin speaking your message.
